Breidalsheii (Breidalur-heath) is between Vigrf in Skridalur and the South Valley of Breidalur. For ages the main road between Fljtsdalshra and Breidalur has been on this heath. In Breidalsheii you can see particular and rare traces of road construction from the 19th century. There are practically undamaged stowages built in the year 1870. These stowages are, with many cairns on the heath, part of well made road that was constructed for pack horses and horseback riders that travelled between Fljtsdalshra and Breidalur. This old road was in use for 90 years, the last 20 of them cars drove over it. The stowages are an exhibit of ancient handicraft and road construction that was made with handtools only.

The old road on the top of Breidalsheii is visible most part of the way from rng (were the road slopes down to Breidalur) and to Vigrf in Skridalur (were it disappears under present road by the power line). This part of the old road is approximately 3 km long. It is a good option for a comfortable walk which is both educational and shows an example of transportation mode of previous centuries.
