Klausturkaffi is a café/restaurant in the old dining room on the 1st floor of Gunnar’s house. The focus is on the Icelandic cuisine with special interest in local food products as the Icelandic lamb, reindeer meat, stone bramble berries and mushrooms from the growing forrest of the area. All bread and cakes are baked by Klausturkaffi.
Every day in summer you can enjoy our lunch and cake buffet. Klausturkaffi is open at same time as the museum but dinners, banquests and refreshments for groups can be ordered by arrangement year round.
Klausturkaffi also produces local food souvenirs such as Dandelion syrup, Angelica jam, Stone bramble berry jam, and Sorrel pesto. Take a look at our Products page for more information.
We can easily take 50 guests in seats and on sunny days you can sit out on the south porch and enjoy a home made ice-cream.
